I do not think that you could compare Wang with Godard because if you really have studied Godard' movie for the inside. Godard has always cited his political point of view in most of his movies, which Wang has never been there!!! Beside, if you know the way how Wang works with the movie , I do not think that yoiu will ever compare him with any of the New Wave members.
I always talk with my friends about Wang's movie, and , I do not think that he is that genuine (and genius) in his films. He, sometimes , just make some "different salad" to suprise his Chinese (or some europeans who are in their aisan fever) audiences. tooo bad!!!
