Le Jeune Cinema Francais07, mars, 1999, 15:45:13 After New Wave in the 60s, after Cinema du look in the 80s, what happened to Franch cinema in the 90s? Calude-Marie Tremois wrote a book called "Les enfants de la liberte" subtitled "Le Jeune Cinema Francais des Annees 90" to summarize the phenomenon of French cinema in the 90s. Another 128 pages pocket book "Le Jeune Cinema Francais" also hightlight some of the new directors, among them, a lot of young female directors! I had chances to see some of the directors' movies at Videotheque de Paris. Olivier Assayas (and his affair with Maggie Cheung) is well known in Taiwan. Cedric Klapisch is the one worth to notice. His recent movies: Chacun cherche son chat and Un air de famille are very wit and humorous. I also like the co-writers and actors: Agnes Jaoui and Jean Pierre Barci, they co-wrote and acted in several films. Cedric Klapisch's Un air de famille is a good example.
