Dr. Ben Chang is an associate professor of Graduate Institute of Learning and Instruction at National Central University, Taiwan. He has dedicated to the research of online learning communities building, technology enhanced inquiry-based learning, game-based learning and digital classroom design. He received a Ph.D. from the Computer Science and Information Engineering Department, National Central University, Taiwan on the topic, ‘EduCities: Structured Network Learning Society.’ EduCities, which literally means the excellent city in Asia, is a prototypical network learning society and is the first Internet educational city of its kind in the world. With the metaphor of a city mechanism, it actually responds to the real world, connects people and the current education, and carries out the learning activities online.

Dr. Ben Chang also has been extensively involved with international academic activities. He was the founding Administrative Secretary of APSCE (Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education) since its inception as an independent professional society in 2004. He served in this position until the end of 2007. Dr. Ben Chang also sits on the editorial board of Global Chinese Journal for Computers in Education and the committees of many internationally renowned conferences. He was the local organization chair of International Conference on Computer Supported Collaborative Learning 2005. He was invited to sit on the GCCCE 2009-2011 program committee boards. In addition, he was invited to co-chair the ICCE 2007-2009 and ICCE 2011 workshops, to serve as the executive program chair of GTEL&S sub-conference and executive co-chair of work-in-progress poster of ICCE 2010. Meanwhile, he was the local organization chair of GCCCE 2015 which was held in Taipei, Taiwan in 2015.
