The Pride of Taiwan Shining at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics: Taiwan Experimental Atmospheric Mobile Radar (TEAM-R) of NCU
The Radar Meteorology Laboratory under the Department of Atmospheric Sciences (DAS) at National Central University (NCU), for its research excellence, was invited by Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) to join the observation experiment held during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Game. The experiment was an international and large-scale observation experiment supported by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). NCU research crew was the only team from the subtropical region, being worthy of the pride of Taiwan.

The AI Innovative Team from NCU Won the Championship in the 2018 SingularityU APAC Global Impact Challenge
Singularity University (SU) in the United States and Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) co-organized the 2018 SingularityU APAC Global Impact Challenge (SingularityU GIC). The team “Vibrasee” from National Central University (NCU) became the SU Ventures Award winner with the project “Micro Vibration Detector,” the optical technology application in detecting Parkinson’s disease. “Vibrasee” and the other team “WeavAir” both won the SU Ventures Award.

Wu Ta-You Memorial Award, established by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), is to encourage the academic development of younger researchers and award the grants. Dr. Takeshi Emura, Japanese Associate Professor at the Graduate Institute of Statistics (GIS) of National Central University (NCU), was elected the one of the winners of the award in 2017 for his outstanding research accomplishment in statistics.
